Alfie is just 12 years old and was invited to try our new Qufora IrriSedo MiniGo Flex Small after using the original MiniGo Flex system for the past two years. He is eager to share his story to help other children who are going through similar situations. Here’s what he had to say about his experience with the MiniGo Flex and how he found the new small cone flex as well:
I have been using the original Qufora IrriSedo MiniGo Flex system daily since August 2022. I can honestly say it has changed my life completely. I used to have at least two or three accidents a day, and really suffered with awful tummy pains and bloating, and felt very poorly most of the time. I had no sensation and was doubly incontinent by the time I started treatment.
I have been clear of any accidents since the day I started on the IrriSedo system.
The system is really easy to use; it is quick and completely painless and is not messy at all. I have been able to stay at friends’ houses and use it very discreetly and be confident all will be ok.
I used to have to take medication and use rectal suppositories, which made no difference and were really difficult, painful and unpleasant to use. When the Colorectal team at Addenbrooks started me on this system, it allowed me to lead a much more “normal” life, away from fear and embarrassment, with no discomfort and pain.
When Qufora reached out to us to try out the new and improved system I was really happy and actually quite excited to help. The new system is even more comfortable to use. Because the cone is so much thinner, it is much easier to insert, and for people new to using the system, this will be fantastic!!
I think the idea of lots of holes in the cone instead of one is brilliant. Instead of all the water coming out in one place, it sprinkles out, and it feels gentler and much nicer and disperses the water much more gently, giving a better washout.
I think that these are great changes that make an already amazing product even better…
I want to help Qufora help other kids going through the same difficulties that I went through. I want them to feel more comfortable and not worried about using it…
