I have been using the balloon irrigation system now for about 2 years as having had bowel cancer, have just been given the 5 years clear, hurrah!
I have had the courage to go back to work and have a social life since using the irrigation system, this is now me for the rest of my life as without this system I would most of definitely have asked to have the stoma bag back, which I had while my bowel healed but my bag leaked sometimes and had to wear clothes that disguised the bulge.
I feel more confident now and no longer feel like a prisoner in my own home and I have my life back.
